SEWARD Bill

Gnowangerup couple Mr. and Mrs. Bill Seward have retired from the workforce. On October 29 and 30, 1995, Rene and Bill respectively terminated their employment at the Growangerup hospital and G S Hendry and Company.
Rene and Bill came to Growangerup 36 years ago when Bill took the position as head of the spare parts department at C. S. Hendry and Co., he remained in that position until his retirement.
They reared six children and have lived at No. 6 Aylmore Street since their arrival.
Bill received a set of new lawn bowls from his employers as a parting gift to a valued employee and staff member.
Being the hard worker that she is, Rene did not find difficulty in finding work Conscientious and reliable, and an excellent cook, she had the qualities employers were looking for in an employee.

"Sometimes things were hard so I would take the two youngest children to work with me she said
When Rene left the Gnowangerup hospital after 18 years cooking etc, the staff and Board put on a special afternoon tea in her honour and presented her with an out-door setting. of which she is very proud.
To celebrate their retirement their family. friends and working associates took them on a mystery trip which turned out to be a bus trip to the Borden Tavern for dinner.
Over the 36 years in Gnowangerup they have taken active parts in community projects and sport. Bill is a Life Member of the Gnowangerup Dart Club, he also played football tennis, golf and lawn bowls. Rene contested in tennis, darts basketball as well as hockey and lawn bowls.
Keen in the arts of angling, they find time to go fishing, their new 4WD adds to their comfort.
May they have many happy and healthy retirement years together.
